I decided to make a career of it and have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture from Brigham Young University - Idaho. My studies have focused on plant production while I also have experience in Nursery & Garden Center Operations.

    Nice article on hort health. I am especially pleased to see that you included the actual references, technical research articles which go beyond personal beliefs. Not that beliefs are wrong, rather like the old saying, sometimes science tells people they already knew in language they can’t understand :-) So thanks for writing on this important topic, especially for those who don’t read research themselves.

    Great article! I am 82 and still an avid gardener! The kneeling and bending are not as easy as they were years ago (solved with a nice kneeler that flips over to become a bench and has two strong handles to help me up!!!LOL) — I agree that gardening is one of the tools to keep us young. Plus, I am a frugal cook and love having the pantry and freezer full of healthy foods to work with! Happy to have found this site!
