Sprouted sunflower seeds should be shelled just like you would flavored seeds from the grocery store, only the process is much easier. The benefit of eating sprouted sunflower seeds is that you get to enjoy a crisp, flavor-filled healthy living-food snack. By sprouting, you unlock a host of beneficial nutrients stored within the living seed otherwise blocked by the traditional flavoring process of store seeds. Certified Organic. ~700 seeds/oz.
Sunflower sprouts are easy and fast to grow. Soak the seeds for 8-12 hours to help soften the seed coat and signal the start of germination. We recommend a rate of about 4 Tablespoons of seed (0.25 cups) per cup of water. Proceed to rinse the seeds 2-3 times a day until they are ready to eat. Sunflower sprouts are generally ready to harvest in 2-3 days, just be sure to remove the seed coat before eating. You can easily sprout sunflowers using the tray, jar, or bag methods at home and on the go.
