Brandywine Red Tomato Growth Habits:

In warm climates with long summers, Brandywine Red seeds may be direct seeded. However, in most parts of the country, they are transplanted. When doing so, make sure and bury this potato-leafed cultivar about two-thirds deep. This helps the roots higher up on the stem gain traction and results in a sturdier transplant. These indeterminate plants grow up to 8 feet tall, so stakes are necessary. Brandywine Red tomatoes ripen about 70 days after transplant, resulting in large, round fruits.

Tomatoes grown from Brandywine Red tomato seeds are beefsteaks. Fresh from the vine, they prized for their sandwich-sized slicers with a delicious flavor.
