Growing Madame Butterfly Mix Snapdragon Garden Seeds

Madame Butterfly Mix is easy to grow from seed and may be sown directly outside after final frost or, for early blooms, start indoors 8-10 weeks prior to last frost. Germination occurs in 10-21 days with full lighting, then transplant to larger container once there are at least two sets of true leaves. Harden off plants before transplanting outdoors. Madame Butterfly snapdragon seeds mature in 115-121 days as 24-36 inch tall bushy uprights with a 14-16 inch spread of long, densely packed stalks of about 14 double-petaled florets bursting with a vivid mix of bronze, cherry, peach, canary, rose, ivory, fuchsia, orange, and white.

Madame Butterfly snapdragon is a 2016 Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers (ASCFG) winner for its "unique double petal form" and being "useful for a wide range of floral designs." The Madame Butterfly snapdragon is also noted by judges for its dense "azalea-type" blooms that "prevent pollination by insects, allowing flowers to last longer than single-petaled varieties."
