Growing Silver Falls Dichondra Garden Seeds

Silver Falls dichondra is a rugged desert perennial and most commonly sown outdoors after the frost, but can be started indoors 6-8 weeks prior for stronger starts. Dichondra will germinate in 7-14 days with full lighting and can be transplanted either outside or in any number of hanging baskets, planters, and indoor pots. Plants will vine upwards with staking support or trellis. Lightly press 2-3 Silver Falls dichondra seeds into the soil without covering 36" apart in loamy, medium moist, and well-drained soil in full sun. Dichondra is known to be a very tolerant and adaptable ground cover resilient to many pests and diseases. Do not overwater since soggy soil will cause shallow roots and risk of being susceptible to diseases. Silver Falls dichondra seeds mature in 91-98 days as 2-4" tall trailing mounds with a 36-48" spread of creeping silvery blue vines.

Dichondra argentea, or more commonly known as Silver Ponysfoot, is native to the demanding arid conditions of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and northern Mexico.
