Growing Directions:

Sow seeds in full sun in either the fall or the spring. Harvests will be ready in early May for fall planting and in late July for spring planting. Cover each seed with about an inch of soil and keep 4" between plants and 20" or more between rows. For fresh beans, wait until the pods have reached their full size and the beans inside have plumped up. At this point, the leaves should just be starting to turn yellow. For dried beans, wait until the leaves have become brown, and then remove the entire plant or just the vines for further drying. For greens, pick leaves when they are still young and a bright green flavor. This will be much earlier than when the pods themselves are ready for harvest.

Facts:

To eat the beans, pods and skin should be removed and then beans should be cooked. Beans can also be stored in the freezer or in the fridge with oil for fresh beans, and in a cool dark place for dried beans. The beans themselves are creamy with some nutty undertones, and taste fantastic when paired with salty flavors.
