This lineage lends it to germinating well in cool, wet soils. It matures from white for fresh eating to multiple colors once dried. A great option for that old-time classic corn flavor. Growing Non-GMO Organic Painted Hills Corn Seeds
Corn should be directly sown in blocks or clumps to encourage good pollination via wind. Clear your growing area of weeds before planting. A loamy, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8 is best. Sow corn seeds 1-2 inches deep and 3-4 inches apart after your last spring frost date. When true leaves start developing, thin the seedlings to one every 12 inches. Rows should be spaced 24 inches apart.
